Queen Altair for ECCC

This is the most recent version of Queen Altair. I sculpted and re-cast new half faces for Emerald City Comic Con. I'm really happy with the overall effect, less so with the actual application. My edges just aren't good enough and getting the face off was a literal pain. (Let me tell you, 99% rubbing alcohol ANYWHERE near your eyes is a terrible idea.)

I'm probably going to take a step back from the faces and work on a really solid 2d design with simple stage makeup. (In the mean time I'll continue playing with smaller prosthetics to better learn the craft...starting with full faces or even half faces may have been too ambitious.) I'm also planning a full set of teeth, so that should be entertaining. Also thinking I may rework or replace the purple top I wear. It looks great in some shots and less so in others.

Anyway, I'm rambling. All in all I'm really happy with the costume- this is just one of those projects that will never really be "done."
